Timber carriage houses and cart lodges are a traditional style garage or car barn which sit equally comfortably alongside period, listed buildings and contemporary, modern homes. Providing dry storage for cars, tools and garden furniture, space for an office or gym, they are available in a range of sizes and styles. Amazingly flexible, a bespoke carriage house is cost-effective garaging and a stunning addition to any house.
All of our carriage houses and cart lodges are constructed with sustainably sourced, pressure-treated timber or oak depending on the style and finish you desire. Often known as an oak-framed garage, our carriage houses look great with oak framing, either just to the front or throughout.
As a barn-style building, a carriage house or car barn is highly flexible with either open parking bays, enclosed bays with double garage doors or a combination of both. We can even add a recessed front wall with a door and window to create a self-contained workshop. We offer a range of widths and lengths for garaging even the largest of 4x4 and SUVs, as well as providing storage space or workshop area. As we create each timber building to your exact requirements, you can design the carriage house you need.
Your carriage house can be finished with either traditional weatherboard or shiplap cladding, add windows, a side door or even a log store. Roofing options include cedar shingles and traditional tiles as well as modern and easy to maintain contemporary finishes.
